What’s the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation?

In September of 1993 the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation was incorporated as a nonprofit corporation in the state of North Carolina. And, in 1994 the Internal Revenue Service approved the Foundation as a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization. Since that time the Foundation has established itself as a charitable organization Carolinas dedicated to the embodiment of the “people helping people” philosophy of North and South Carolina credit unions, their employees and volunteers, their members, and their communities.

Does the Foundation charge fees to administer a fund?

The Foundation does charge an low administrative fee to administer Donor Advised Funds and other endowed funds. All funds donated to the Foundation for the Reach Program or Disaster Relief are contributed dollar-for-dollar for the purposes donated.

How do I make a contribution?

All contributions are tax deductible and may be made online or or sent to the Foundation at:

How do I apply for a Scholarship?

The Foundation provides scholarships through credit unions in North and South Carolina. In order to qualify and apply, you must be a member of a North or South Carolina credit union. The scholarship applications are available to all participating credit unions in these states around the first of November of each year. Interested applicants can click here for more information on the Foundation’s Scholar Vision Funds.

May I apply for a Help Source grant?

The Carolinas Credit Union Foundation is pleased to offer small credit unionsassistance through our Help Source program. This program is a way to partner with North and South Carolina credit unions in initiatives productive to the development and growth in services to members of the credit union. These partnerships will share resources to provide productive needs for credit unions in the small asset category.
